Tomorrow, August 11, 2010 there is a 7pm meeting of the Greater Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council for the residents of Echo Park to discuss the development referred to as the “Sunset Flats” which will be destroying 6 turn of the century affordable rental homes for the purpose of building a 5 story (higher than allowed in this zone), 64 units apartment building.

We will be attending to discuss problems related to two proposed developments in the area:
1. Sunset Flats (proposal to build a 5 story building with over 60 apartments and destroy 6 homes on Elsinore/Sunset from block to block.)
2. Old Ramona Theater 2139 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026 (proposal to develop it into a 200 capacity bar/restaraunt/ live music space with no free parking lot serving a full bar from 11am-2am 7 days a week.
Two neighborhood petitions are circulating now to protest these two developments. We are also asking those negatively impacted by the proposed liquor license at the Old Ramona Theater to write their protests that are due at ABC on August 21, 2010. MEETING: The California Craftsman Club
Old house lovers and especially those who appreciate the architectural style of the craftsman bungalow are gathering together to form a club. This club will be meeting to discuss everything related to their bungalows including renovations, and preservation.
